The Case for Mars
Mars is known as the Red Planet because of its distinctive color. Mars has been the most visited planet in space history, mostly due to the fact that it is earth's closest neighbor. These missions have led researchers to conclude that it is a very complex planet with an atmosphere capable of supporting strong winds, seasonal frost, and even dust storms. It is also home to the largest known volcanic mountain in the solar system, as well as numerous other volcanoes and deep valleys. Unlike other planets, Mars has some water beneath its surface, which has encouraged speculation about the potential existence of extraterrestrial life there.
